Another Proud Momma Moment

We attending  Noah's award celebration in his class this year.  The teacher gave an award to each student for something they were good at.  Noah is a great student and I had asked him what award he thought he might get.  He thought maybe math since he usually always gets the answers right.

It was very sweet how much thought the teacher had put into each award for each individual students.  Some got awards for being a good illustrator or athletics or various other things.

Noah's award was the Einstein award.  For being good in math, science, english, etc.  She said she never gives the same award to more than one student but she just couldn't decide on who should get this award so Noah and Taylor both got it.  She complimented them for knowing everything before she taught it.  We are so happy that God has blessed Noah in this area of his life.  We are expecting God to do great things with his ability to learn and apply his knowledge.

I am thinking that everyone should brag on their kids a little so I will give you the chance to do the same.  I have never used one of these Linky things but I will give it a try.

So join in and give us a "Proud Momma Moment".  Enter you link below:

Memorial Day 2010

This Memorial Day has been great.  We got to sleep in till 8:15 woohoo.  This is late for our kids.  I got up and made a cake for lunch from my Pioneer Woman cookbook.  It was yummy.  Tim worked on the church bus and his truck.  A bunch of manly stuff like changing oil and brake pads.   Tim grilled for lunch.... chicken and burgers, we walked our sheep and then we headed over to the neighbour to say thanks.  He served in the infantry for 21 years.  He fought in both the Korean and Vietnam war.  We took a couple of pieces of our yummy chocolate cake and visited for a few minutes.  I know sometimes we take for granted the sacrifice that people have made so that we can live in a free country.

This was the first piece that we were going to bring.  Noah was trying to show me a trick with his box.  Don't worry we got a new piece for the neighbour.

Noah thought it was a great day because he shot a bird with his Beebe gun the very first shot.  YUCK

So what did you do to remember?????

Another Sweet Andrew

Have you noticed that the sonic cups say "Even Sweeter After Dark"  on them.  Andrew has.  He had left his tea in the car while Noah played his baseball game.  We all get into the car after the game.

Andrew - Mom I want my tea.
Mom - Okay but it is probably not very good.  It is probably watered down.
Andrew - No it says it is sweeter at night.

He cracks me up!!!!

KDP Graduation 2010

Ti

Dad took Ti up to get his certificate.

Ginny and Wendy were Ti's wonderful teachers this year.

Andrew
The Graduate!!!!!

We were so proud of him.

We were sad that Mrs. Kelly, Andrew's teacher could not be there.  So we didn't get any pictures with her.
:(  He has learned so much from her this year and we are going to miss her.

Nannie and Pops came up to celebrate with us.   They treated us to dinner afterwards.

The Graduate got to ride with Pops to the restaurant.

Proud Momma Moments

Last Wednesday night we had the Awana awards program.

Both Noah and Andrew completed their books.

This was Noah last year in Sparkies and he got a plaque for finishing all three books.  He took down one of the picture frames in the hallway and displayed his award.  Which I am totally okay with.   I want him to think that his accomplishment of memorizing scripture is important enough to be displayed in a prominent place in our home.  Memorization comes so easy for him, I hope this continues for him as he gets older.

Psalms 119:11
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Back to Work

So a while back I blogged about thinking that God was going to put me back into the work force a little more.   I really didn't know what he had planned I just thought something Well guess what he did.  I got a call last week from a place that I had talked to months ago.  They had wanted more hours than I was willing to give so I declined.  They called me again last week and thought they had a position that could be more flexible with the time.  I took the position.   They are not for sure how much help they will need but for now I will be working half a day.  I am hoping to impress them with my skillz (sarcasm) so that when school starts up I could keep those hours.  I like to work and working half a day will work out great for me.  Anyway, God knew how it was all going to work out.  He even provided me with a babysitter.  So please pray for our family that we will transition into this new routine smoothly.  It has been a long time since I have had to get up and out of the house early every morning of the week.  Probably won't get to play on the computer as much

Ti - 15 Months

Ti is 15 Months old.  What would we do with out him.  He is such a happy little boy.  He is beginning to say a few things such as thank you and fish (goldfish) or cracker.  He is walking pretty good but he still crawls a lot because it is faster for him.  He loves to eat almost anything and has 4 teeth.   He is wearing 4 diapers and is wearing 24 month clothing.  He likes to read books and he loves taking a bath.  He also really likes strawberry milk.  When he sees or wants a ball he won't say the word he just grunts.   He is into giving hugs and crawling all over you if you are in the floor with him.  He is such a blessing to our family.

Everyone needs a naked office assistant.

I didn't photo shop this last picture and let all the boo boos show in all their glory.  The spot on his nose I think is from his brother's bouncing him on the trampoline.  Can you say road rash.  The bruise on his jaw is from the bleachers at the baseball game last night.

Not Me Monday

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I decided to do Not Me Monday on MckMama's blog so here is a little something to make everyone else feel better about themselves.

My son did not squash a dog tick in the floor of my laundry and think it was totally cool how the blood squirted on the wall.  Really my kids don't do gross stuff like that and I would never have a tick inside my house.  That is just gross.

I have not gotten my youngest son out of the toilet numerous times in the last week.  Really by now all of us remember to close the door when we leave the bathroom.

No one would ever yell from the bathroom... don't worry mom he only has one hand in the toilet and it is flushed.

I would never have to call my husband for the 100th time to figure out how to make the Wii work.  I am really good with the electronics.

I would never put strawberry syrup in my baby's glass of milk so that he would actually drink some of it.  Really my kids are very healthy and they just naturally drink plain white milk.

I would never put my sons underwear on the dog so that she could come inside and not make a mess.  Really only humans wear underwear at our house.

I would never let my children play in the rain on the trampoline just to get them out of the house.  (don't worry it wasn't lightening)

My middle son would not have witnessed Laci (the dog)  breeding and have all kinds of questions.  I would have never lied and said they were just playing.  Really I am always totally honest with my kids.

I would have never said "oh crap" out loud when we were having prayer time in our Sunday School class.  Even if I thought I had kicked my pop over.  Really I am very reverent during prayer and would be totally concentrating on speaking to my heavenly father.

Favorite Books

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

I am particpating in "Show us your life" over at Kelly's Korner.

I remember reading lots and lots growing up.  I had to write a book report every month while I was in private school, at least it seemed like that.  You would think I would be a better writer now, obviously it didn't help me much.

Anyway some of the books I remember most were Heidi or the Little House on the Prairie books.  Sugar Creek Game and Nancy Drew books were also great.

The one book I remember my mom reading to me when I was a child is The Lonely Doll by Dare Wright.  It was copyrighted in  1957.  The story is of a doll that wants to have friends and ends up getting into trouble and even getting a spanking.

I talked my mom into giving me her copy of this book so I have been able to read it to my children.  They like it also.

One of my most favorite books to read to my children is "The Monster at the End of This Book"

Now the only reading I get done during the day, that is if I am lucky, is reading my Bible.

Mother's Day 2010

I had a great Mother's Day.  It started out by Tim getting up with the baby and letting me sleep in a little bit.  When I got up I was ordered to get back into bed so that they could bring me my gifts.  I am super excited about all of them.

Noah - Gave me a book of coupons.  He told me I could use these at anytime.  They were for such things as cleaning his closet or getting ready for bed without being told.  There was even one for washing the car.  I think Dad will need to help with this one.

Andrew - I got a sweet poem with his hand print on it.  He made it at school and they even laminated it which I am very happy about.  I think all crafts should be laminated if you are planning on keeping them.

Dad & all the boys - A new swing for outside and The Pioneer Woman Cookbook.

Tim putting my new swing together.

I am super pumped about both of these gifts.  I have already started reading the cookbook.  (reading a cookbook - weird I know) Soooooooo interesting.  If I lived near this family I think we would be good friends.  She seems so down to earth and also interesting.  She has a blog to so I have added her to my reads list.  Timmy says I could find out where they live and go meet her.  Can you say "stalker" .lol    She actually doesn't live that far from here.  Anyone want to go on a road trip....just kidding.

Sunday morning we dedicated Ti at church.

I had a great mother's day.  How about you????

Proud Momma Moment

This was a week of proud momma moments.  We have been talking a  lot to Noah about how your attitude is so important in anything you do.  Thursday night Noah had a game in Prairie Grove.  When we got there and saw the line up. Noah was about fourth from the bottom of the batting line up and he was going to be setting out on defense one inning.    I was thinking OOOH NO.  How is this going to affect the attitude.  I was proud to say that Noah had a great attitude through out the game.  He tried hard.  He got one hit and two people out on second.    I was proud of his athletic skills but I was so much more proud that even though he was probably a little disappointed about the batting line up and having to set out his attitude was great.

Andrew did a great job at his game on Friday night.  He hit the ball a long ways and got someone out at first.

This was the first time he had played catcher.

Look at that form.  He is such a cutie.
Even his hand was behind his back.  You can tell he watches his older brother's team.  The crowd thought this was funny.  What can I say I have exceptionally smart children.  lol

Nannie and Pops were up for a couple of days.    Pops had a job in the area so Nannie came with him.  This is so nice for me.  She kept the kids while I did volunteer work at the church and school all day on Friday.  It was so nice not to have to lug Ti around to all the places I had to go.  During the games I actually got to watch instead of entertaining the baby the whole time.  Now if we could just talk them into moving up here.  I am a little envious of those families that get to live near the grandparents.

Noah came home and told me that he had given part of his book fair money to a boy that didn't have any.  I told him that was nice and it was his money so he could decide on what he wanted to do with it..  It is always nice to share. And then I went into a discussion about how you shouldn't talk about how much stuff you have or what others don't have because it could hurt someone's feelings.  His teacher even brought it up to me later how she was so proud of him.  She told me that she thought Noah had bought something cheaper so that he would have enough money left to give away to his friend.  You want your children to grow up to be kind and it is always nice when you seem them exhibiting a trait that you are trying to teach them.  I should probably learn a little about being generous myself.

OOOH Did I mention that Noah cleaned his room and Ti's room.  I mean really cleaned them, he even vacuumed.  I was tickled pink.  What has gotten into that child.
